Oldrich Kulhanek



Oldrich Kulhanek was born on February 26, 1940 in Prague. Between 1958-64 he studied at the College of Applied Art in Prague in the studio of Prof. Svolinsky. In 1971, Kulhanek was arrested by the Czech KGB and accused of the defamation of representatives of communist countries in his graphic sheets, because he used the face of Stalin in his art from 1968-1971. Thus, he was prohibited from exhibiting his works during the 70's. Nevertheless, his works found their way into the world illegally.
